Anyone who attends our programs and feels connected with our purpose may be considered a member of this community—there are no formal or ritual processes to become a member of IMSB. Members are encouraged to volunteer and get involved.

Wise friends, teachers, trainings, and peer gatherings provide the vital supports that sustain our efforts to develop clarity and compassion within our personal lives and our communal world.

The path of awakening does not occur in isolation and is not restricted to the meditative experience. As an active community we care about issues that arise in our lives, families, neighborhoods, workplaces, nations, and world. As a group we express compassion by helping needy members, supporting charitable causes and aid projects both locally and internationally, and engaging openly and kindly with diverse concerns, experiences, and projects in order to nurture the growth of wisdom everywhere.
